Role & Overall Purpose
To contribute to the optimum performance of FAS by providing expertise and support in analytical methodologies, instrument use and quality assurance management.

To optimise the quality of recommendations and reports emanating from FAS, To conduct and manage crop nutrition and soil health research.

To carry out advisory functions relating to crop nutrition and sustainable soil management in support of the South African sugar industry.

Soil fertility management, plant nutrition, soil testing and development of soil testing packages, mid-infrared spectroscopy and rapid nutrient diagnosis.
