Accessing SASRI Variety Trial Data

SASRI has been conducting Variety Evaluation and Ripener Evaluation trials for decades.
The Variety Evaluation trials are conducted over multiple ratoons and aim to evaluate the agronomic performance of newer varieties across a range of agro-climatic conditions, and to compare these to existing regional varieties under commercial growing conditions. Outcomes of Variety Evaluation trials include yield and RV performance, ratoonability and adaptability.
Ripener Evaluation trials test the response of selected varieties to certain ripener treatments in order to assist the grower community with chemical ripener decision-making.
Data from specific trials are usually shared at grower days in the various regions, and via SASRI publications. The trial data summaries have just been made more accessible: results from over 40 trials spread across 30 agroclimatic zones and covering over 60 varieties are now available on our website, accompanied by a map showing the location of the trials.
